Resin Rings made with Skateboard Shavings

I recently replied to a post on FaceBook for ideas how to recycle some shavings created by Natalie of O'Blue Thrashion who recycles old skateboards into jewellery and other items.
I'd previously cast some wood shavings from my dad's workshop in resin to make cufflinks so suggested this might be an idea.  Natalie very kindly offered me a bag of shavings to "play" with - advising that they were multicoloured.

Jewellery with Words

This is something new from me. 

I've used words from old books - the words have been captured inside a small silver plated bezel cup with a clear glass cabochon which magnifies the words.  No valuable old books have been used - just very ordinary books that have seen better days.

So far I've just made some word charm bracelets but am looking forward to extending the range next year.

Hinton Ampner

We had a lovely visit to the National Trust property Hinton Ampner over the weekend.

It's only a small property near Winchester in Hampshire - not too busy and it was a gorgeous sunny autumn day, although a wee bit windy.

OH took his camera so I'll let his photographs do the talking (and yes, he does use filters to get the fabulous effects)

the only thing to add is that they do scrumptious cakes - very generous portions - worth going back just to be naughty.
