Having completely neglected this blog for the past few months I am now trying to catch up.
After my last blogpost about using pressed and dried flowers in my resin jewellery again I also revisited using buttons. When I first started working with resin I used buttons from my own button box. This time I've been buying buttons - there is a vast choice of buttons to buy, already sorted by size and colour. You actually need small buttons or inclusions in resin jewellery. I've also enjoyed making button bracelets.
Here's a selection of what I've been making recently
cream buttons pendant
purple button bracelet
pink buttons pendant
cream buttons earrings
cream buttons bracelet
button ring
brown button earrings
pink button bracelet
as before there is more button jewellery and buttons in resin jewellery available from all my shops

Flower Jewellery
One of the first things I tried when I started working with resin all those years ago was casting real pressed flowers and leaves in resin. In those days I pressed flowers and leaves from my own garden from daisies in the lawn to leaves from my Acer tree when they had just turned glorious autumnal reds.
Recently I'd fallen out of love with resin - so many people are now making resin jewellery and it was becoming increasingly difficult to come up with new and original ideas. So I went back to the beginning but this time I bought the pressed and dried flowers and have rediscovered my love of working with resin. I hope you like the 2012 versions of my flower jewellery.

New Stock on GroovyCart
Apolgies in advance - this is a shameless promotion post...
These are a some new pieces recently listed or relisted on GroovyCart.
I called this pendant The Dressmaker, for obvious reasons. It sold a while ago but I've now made another one, took a new photo and it's now been relisted
Everything below is new stock
I was asked by a bridegroom to make a Jelly Tot pendant with a personal message on the back for him to give to his bride on their wedding day to commemorate their marriage. It was a bit of a "doh" moment for me - why hadn't I thought of putting the words on the back. All the best ideas come from my customers!
I've made some music theme jewellery recently for a bride to give her bridesmaids so have made some other pieces for my shop.
and finally a peacock blue pendant
I bought some peacock tail pendants and have added the colour myself - I made the blue glitter mix and put little drops in each circle. The pretty crystal bead has a lovely AB coating.

Fish in Resin
I can't believe I've neglected my blog for so long.
I've been busy making and stocking my shop on Etsy. I opened it a while ago but have only started listing regularly in the past couple of months. I joined the CraftyFolk team on Etsy who have a Daily Listing club where you try to list every day and we record all the sales of the team members who are taking part. It's been a really good discipline for me.
I'd bought a pack of seed beads a while ago - each colour coming in it's own little glass bottle. I knew I'd find a reason to recycle the little bottles at some stage and when I found some miniature polymer clay fish recently - whilst trawling the internet for something else - they seemed to be a perfect match. A little bit of resin in the bottles and the fish appear to be swimming!
I've used the little fish in other resin pieces, making them into pendant and keyrings - quirky or what!

Diamond Jubilee
I grew up and went to school in Windsor and my parents and family still live in and around the town. I've been a spectator at many State Visits and events - from my school days to the recent State Visit by President Sarkozi.
As a child we marched two by two from school to the Long Walk to stand and wave our homemade flags. Mum was a teacher so I got roped in as a teenager to help out when she took her class to see another State visit and I took my son as a child to see numerous events. When it was the Queens Silver Jubilee we went to see her light the first beacon next to the Copper Horse at the top of the Long Walk.
So to celebrate the Queen's Diamond jubilee I thought I'd post a few patriotic items from my Just K Jewellery shops
