I can't believe I've neglected my blog for so long.
I've been busy making and stocking my shop on Etsy. I opened it a while ago but have only started listing regularly in the past couple of months. I joined the CraftyFolk team on Etsy who have a Daily Listing club where you try to list every day and we record all the sales of the team members who are taking part. It's been a really good discipline for me.
I'd bought a pack of seed beads a while ago - each colour coming in it's own little glass bottle. I knew I'd find a reason to recycle the little bottles at some stage and when I found some miniature polymer clay fish recently - whilst trawling the internet for something else - they seemed to be a perfect match. A little bit of resin in the bottles and the fish appear to be swimming!
I've used the little fish in other resin pieces, making them into pendant and keyrings - quirky or what!

Diamond Jubilee
I grew up and went to school in Windsor and my parents and family still live in and around the town. I've been a spectator at many State Visits and events - from my school days to the recent State Visit by President Sarkozi.
As a child we marched two by two from school to the Long Walk to stand and wave our homemade flags. Mum was a teacher so I got roped in as a teenager to help out when she took her class to see another State visit and I took my son as a child to see numerous events. When it was the Queens Silver Jubilee we went to see her light the first beacon next to the Copper Horse at the top of the Long Walk.
So to celebrate the Queen's Diamond jubilee I thought I'd post a few patriotic items from my Just K Jewellery shops

Leather Wraparound Bracelets
something different from me - leather wraparound bracelets!
I've been talking about making leather wraparound bracelets for quite a while. I really like them and have been trawling the internet for the leather cord and thonging as well as the bracelet ends and clasps.
These five bracelets are the first to be listed in my GroovyCart shop

I really love the simplicity of these bracelets - and of course I am testing driving one myself!
I've got more leather on order and can't wait to make more for my other shops.

Pepper Cat Jewellery
About 18 months ago we adopted a little rescue cat called Pepper. I don't think at the time we realised how much joy she would bring us. I blogged about her and posted some photos in April last year - if you'd like to take a peek look here.
Recently I spent an afternoon experimenting with our photo editing software using photos of Pepper. Some of the effects gave the photos a retro appearance so I made one of them into a pendant for myself. I've had so many comments and compliments when I've been wearing it that I decided to make a few more pieces for my GroovyCart shop.

This pendant is very similar to the first one I made for myself. It's strung on soft brown leather cord. For more information please click here
This second pendant comes on a 24" antique bronze colour chain. Again, for more information please click here
And a bracelet on pretty silver plated chain. The cat photo charm dangles from the last link of the bracelet. For more information please click here
While I was editing the photos and listing them in the shop my little helper was on the chair next to me sleeping on the job!

new resin jewellery
I found some black filigree cut out tape in the Pound Shop & wondered what it would look like cast in resin - well here's my first two experiments
if you'd like to see more photos or find out more about them please click here
One of my favourite things to do is cast little charms in resin - both of these have a blue and gold background
I found some fabulous vintage style spoon pendants and have made some quirky little pendants by casting some slices of polymer clay apples in resin in the bowl of the spoon
this is one of them that's listed in my Groovycart shop - click here

Resin Rings made with Skateboard Shavings
I recently replied to a post on FaceBook for ideas how to recycle some shavings created by Natalie of O'Blue Thrashion who recycles old skateboards into jewellery and other items.
I'd previously cast some wood shavings from my dad's workshop in resin to make cufflinks so suggested this might be an idea. Natalie very kindly offered me a bag of shavings to "play" with - advising that they were multicoloured.
And here are some rings that I've made...

I've got some pendants waiting to be finished - once they are ready I'll be photographing them & listing them in my GroovyCart shop.
