Fingerprint Jewellery

I made this fingerprint jewellery for my son and new daughter-in-law as an additional wedding present from me. His cufflinks have an imprint of her fingerprint and her heart bracelet has an imprint of his fingerprint.

Love this idea, my friend who lives in Spain does this for new born babies, as a keepsake for parents or for child as they grow up.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...

I started making jewellery for myself a few years ago and soon became totally addicted. I borrowed books from the library and bought lots too.

I discovered resin after going on a silver clay workshop in 2007. Whilst I loved making the pure silver jewellery it was adding colour that interested me. I tried enamelling and might have pursued that direction if I hadn't discovered you could use coloured resin instead of enamel to achieve the effect I was looking for.

Then I bought a book about resin jewellery and as soon as it arrived I knew this was what I wanted to do. I struggled in the early days as there were virtually no supplies or moulds available in the UK. Everything was trial and error - and there were lots of errors. Luckily today both the resin and moulds are more easy to source in the UK.

Since the early days I have developed my techniques and skills. I'm constantly experimenting - "what will this look like in resin" - or making my own moulds from items I find.
