resin animal hair clips

two blog posts in one day - now I need to go and lie down in a darkened room.....

I had listed these little resin animals in my BEADS shop on GroovyCart. Then I found some more hair clips with flat pads (thought I'd sold them all as destash in Karen'sBeads on MISI) so decided to make them up into hair clips.

Pictures could be better - that'll teach me to do something in a rush - I'll retake the photographs tomorrow. I've listed all the hairclips in JKJ on GroovyCart

These are gorgeous Karen, its a pity you haven't got some monkeys LOL, my daughter is made on them and she would have loved these! Although I may consider the rabbits for her as she has a pet bunny. Love Claire x

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...

I started making jewellery for myself a few years ago and soon became totally addicted. I borrowed books from the library and bought lots too.

I discovered resin after going on a silver clay workshop in 2007. Whilst I loved making the pure silver jewellery it was adding colour that interested me. I tried enamelling and might have pursued that direction if I hadn't discovered you could use coloured resin instead of enamel to achieve the effect I was looking for.

Then I bought a book about resin jewellery and as soon as it arrived I knew this was what I wanted to do. I struggled in the early days as there were virtually no supplies or moulds available in the UK. Everything was trial and error - and there were lots of errors. Luckily today both the resin and moulds are more easy to source in the UK.

Since the early days I have developed my techniques and skills. I'm constantly experimenting - "what will this look like in resin" - or making my own moulds from items I find.
