one small mouse

recently one of the other sellers on Folksy - Serena from The Copper Swallow - posted on the Folksy forum asking for people to donate an item, or a percentage from the sale of an item, to an animal charity of our choice.  She runs a website called One Small Mouse which campaigns for animal welfare.
I was more than happy to get involved as I really admire people who work tirelessly for charities that they feel passionate about.
I decided I wanted to make a pendant using a vintage image of cats and I had great fun trawling the internet looking a suitable image.  I found loads a fabulous vintage photographs and postcards - some of which I've already used and lots that I'm saving for later.

In the end I decided to use an image of three little kittens popping their heads out of an envelope

Serena has written about the pendant on One Small Mouse & we've both tweeted, facebooked and blogged hoping to find someone to click the buy button!  As  soon as it sells I'll be popping a cheque for £12.50 in the post to my local Cats Protection League.
If you'd like to help The Cats Protection League by buying the pendant please click here

Folksy July Jesters - 14th

done it again - where did those days go to?

been busy making & listing pieces for Karen's Beads on Folksy - all I have to do now is take some more photo's...

I asked Folksy Admin if I could sell some of my dad's handmade woodwork in my shop - and they said yes!  I also want to try making things other than jewellery so have renamed my shop Just K Jewellery & Gifts.

The last few items listed for July Jesters are

Dannie, from Booties by Dannie,  had a really good idea for a JJ blog (and not just because she included one of my items) and wrote about her favourite things.  She chose her favourite items from all her JJ blogs so far this month.  I'm going to copy her, and do the same for my next blog - hopefully I'll be able to do it first thing tomorrow when it's quiet & peaceful.  If you'd like to see what she chose - read it here

Folksy - July Jesters - 10th day

oh dear, and it was going so well!

All been a bit manic the past few days.  I've been considering moving Karen's Beads for a while but wasn't sure where to go.  In the end it seemed that Folksy was the obvious choice so I opened a new shop a couple of days ago.  Why Karen's Beads - I guess that's the subject for a blog in itself!

Anyway, I've digressed - these are my wednesday, thursday and friday JJ listings

to test the water & see if there would be any interest in my handmade resin pendants I also listed these butterflies - and they all sold

I'll be back later with a selection of lovlies from the other Folksy folk who are taking part in July Jesters
